Jay is excellent at what he does. During a 12-day, 2,000km rolling shoot from Morocco to Monaco, Jay totally rocked it. I’ve been lucky enough to work with a lot of cameramen under similar situations around the world and Jay was as good or better than the best I’ve met. His abilities under pressure are spot on and he gets on with his job in a calm and chilled out way at all times which is essential when you’re part of a small team thrown together to live in each other’s pockets 24/7 and all juggling multiple responsibilities to quite literally keep the show on the road. Better still, his editing eye is superb and his ear for the right music at the right time lifts the finished product even further. If you’ve got a tough job in a wild location and need a cool head with a keen eye and a friendly smile, don’t even bother calling anyone else. Just call Jay, you won’t regret it.
It has been a complete pleasure working alongside Jay/Fizzeek Media. Professional, talented, artistic, and a team player are all words I would use to describe Jay during my The Ultimate Triathlon, a 2000km in 12 day triathlon I completed in Nov 2015 from Morocco to Monaco. Although The Ultimate Triathlon was my project, Jay/Fizzeek Media’s powerful work ethic and passion for the best “shot” were prominent throughout this project while never losing sight, but rather evolving my initial vision, of what I had expressed pre filming. If you need a promotional video, feature length adventure film, or something in between, I have no doubt in my mind that Fizzeek Media will deliver you a professional product exceeding your expectations.
Jay was brought onboard - through the DP, we had not met before. He was a lead camera operator and I found him to be a totally professional team player, and a highly skilled craftsperson. Somebody, who quickly became an integral and very important member of our crew, and also, became a friend. I hope that Jay is on the next shoot… When you’ve got people of his ilk and intelligence… filmmaking becomes really easy. I more than recommend this person. Jay is so personable. His creative mix of skills, both on set and in post production, also offers a sense of 'security' as his knowledge of post sound and editing doubly ensures all is covered in the shoot. Jay ultimately helped make the shooting experience we shared very relaxed and efficiently executed.
I found that Jay Cox was invaluable to our film shoot on 'Confines', as well as essential in Post Production. Jay can wear many hats so when you are on a budget can jump in on many areas. I am so proud of our film 'Confines' and it would not have bene possible to make without Jay's help.
